Effective immediately, the Building and Safety Division will no longer be accepting personal or company checks for payment of fees.
The Building and Safety Division is responsible for reviewing construction plan to ensure the CA Building Code and applicable laws and ordinances are adhered to in the construction, alterations, moving, demolition, repair and use of any building or structure within the City, excluding work in the right-of-way.
The Division also issues building permits and performs site inspections to ensure compliance with pertinent codes, laws and ordinances.
Reports Required Prior to the Sale or Exchange of Real Property
It is the intent to protect the unwary buyer of residential property against undisclosed restrictions on the use of the property by the Lynwood City Council. Therefore, Prior to entering into any agreement of sale or exchange, the owner or his authorized representative shall obtain from the City Building & Safety Division a real property report.
