Speed Humps

The Public Works Department has developed a formal speed hump policy and procedure to effectively handle and address concerns related to speed complaints on residential streets. The purpose of the Speed Hump Policy is to improve safety in neighborhoods by designing traffic calming measures such as the Speed Hump to reduce speed in eligible residential streets. The policy is designed to bring neighborhoods together, provide residents an understanding of what “traffic calming” is and to identify appropriate measures, which can alter travel behavior to the betterment of the impacted neighborhoods.
