[ARCHIVED] Recreation and Community Services Shows that “Parks Make Life Better” by Providing Positive Programs

Celebrating Women's History

As 2022 draws to a close, we would like to congratulate the City’s Recreation and Community Services Department on a strong year of service to the residents and businesses of Lynwood.

““Cities invest in recreation and community services to help people improve their physical and mental well-being, forge cultural unity, and strengthen the sense of safety. In Lynwood, our talented Recreation staff are strategic and creative in producing diverse and inclusive opportunities.” said Mayor Oscar Flores.

There is a long list of events that the Recreation and Community Services held during the year that served children, families, and seniors in the community. Some of the highlights include the Women’s Month Celebration in March, the highly attended Lynwood 5K race in May, the popular Touch-A-Truck and Youth Skate events  – held on the same day in September, and the opening of the Urban Bike Trail last month.
