As more rainy weather comes to Lynwood early this week and you can expect the city’s Public Works Department to continue its excellent response to the challenges that the rain can bring.
During last week’s storms, here’s a highlight of some of the extra work our Public Works folks did to help lessen the impact of the storm on our city streets and alleys:
• Street staff cleared over 200 catch basins and storm drains citywide
• Over 150 potholes were repaired by staff this week
• 108+ locations were serviced by Right of Way staff (including alleys, lots, weed abatements and individual pick-ups of abandoned items )
• Right of Way abated and cleared 100,750 square feet from 8 alleys
“During the rainy season, the City of Lynwood understands that it's critical to keep our streets and alleys well maintained for the safety and health of the entire community,” said Mayor Oscar Flores. “I’d like to thank our employees for their hard work in lessening the impact of these storms on our city,”
Stay safe and let us know if there are storm related problems in your neighborhood.
