Lynwood’s Public Works crews continued cleaning up the aftermath of this month’s record rainstorms.
Last week, crews repaired a 10’x10’ section of a rain-damaged intersection at Long Beach Blvd. east and Sanborn Ave, then had to return a second time due to more damage. They also worked on a large sinkhole at Santa Fe Ave. and Los Flores Blvd and another one on Pine Ave.
The storms also created potholes throughout the City. Lynwood crews repaired more than 90 potholes on the Louise alley from Walnut Ave. to Cortland St. and 50 x 20 foot section sunken area in the same Louise alley from Walnut Ave. to Cortland St. Throughout Lynwood, crews repaired 392 potholes.
This work was done in addition to the crews’ regular tasks that included cleaning 94 miles of alleys citywide, picking up illegally dumped and bulky items from 58 different locations, cleaning 65 bus stops and cleaning more than 2,000 square feet of graffiti from public spaces.
Thank you to our Public Works crews who work to ensure our streets are safe and our public spaces are clean!
