The City of Lynwood’s Public Works crews have been working hard to keep our streets clear during this month’s unprecedented rainfall. Crews were out in force last week and continuing this week to make sure water flows properly in order to prevent street flooding.
Catch basins are used to collect water and debris like sticks, leaves, and other small items from the street and surrounding area. They are key for removing excess water and preventing flood damage to homes and businesses nearby.
But in heavy storms they can get clogged and must be cleaned. Last week, Lynwood crews cleaned out 468 catch basins and storm drains citywide including:
- Abbott Rd. and Bryson Ave. emergency cleanout blocked catch basin,
- 11400 Bullis Rd, emergency cleanout blocked catch basin,
- 10699 Atlantic Ave. cleanout of blocked catch basin, and
- 3787-85 Imperial Hwy blocked catch basin cleanout.
Please know that City of Lynwood crews are working during this heavy rainfall to prevent flooding and other rain-related damage.
