The Department of Public Works is responsible for repairs and maintenance of the City’s water system, sewer system, tree maintenance, streets, storm drains, street lighting,  traffic signals, parks, median islands, buildings and related facilities. In addition, it administers the trolley buses, oil recycling, refuse collection and recycling, and street sweeping programs.

The Community Development Department enhances the quality of life for the residents and businesses of Lynwood while creating an inviting physical environment for visitors. We do this by planning for our future, managing the development process, supporting community development and beautification projects, and protecting the welfare of animals and people by ensuring compliance with traffic safety and the various sections of the Lynwood Municipal Code including the Zoning, Code.

“We are very pleased that Julian and Gabriel have joined our team. Each of them is a proven leader who can help accelerate the progress we are making in improving the city for our residents, businesses and visitors,” said City Manager Ernie Hernandez.
