[ARCHIVED] Work Resumes on the Burke Ham Park Playground

Burke Ham Park Playground

You’ll remember we informed you this summer that the original Burke Ham Playground project’s contractor failed to perform in accordance with the construction contract the firm signed with the City of Lynwood. The City Council, which approved the construction of a new playground because of its importance to our community, voted quickly to replace the contractor.

We are happy to report that a new contractor is working on the playground construction and progress is being made.

The supply chain delays that have been plaguing the U.S. economy are impacting progress a bit as certain equipment that needs to be installed has not yet been delivered. And since we had to hire a new contractor for the playground, we had to start over with our equipment orders which has slowed the progress of finishing the project.

The City Public Works Department has been working closely with the new contractor to make sure that the playground that we all want is ready for our residents in the near future.

We will continue to update you on the progress. Thanks for your patience.
