[ARCHIVED] City of Lynwood Water Developments Are Good News for our Residents

City of Lynwood residents have received more good news from their city government. The California Water Resource Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water (DDW) has approved a water well in our city for use as a drinking water source.

It’s called Well 11—and using water from it will reduce Lynwood’s dependence on imported water by nearly one million gallons a day!

Many cities don’t have access to their own water and have to pay to import their water. The fact that Lynwood has access to its own safe, drinking water is excellent news for our residents. It will save the city $4,000 per day and allow us to invest more toward improving our city’s water infrastructure.

“To be able to use our own water makes the city of Lynwood less dependent on outside sources which is a great benefit to our residents,” said Lynwood Mayor Jorge Casanova. “I want to congratulate our staff for working to bring Well 11 back on line and help make sure our residents have access to safe, more affordable drinking water.”

Congratulations to the Public Works Department which is responsible for repairs and maintenance of the City’s water system, sewer system, tree maintenance, streets, storm drains, street lighting, traffic signals, parks, median islands, buildings and related facilities.
