[ARCHIVED] Public Works Keeps Lynwood Clean and Safe

 Alley cleanup

The City of Lynwood Public Works crews work tirelessly each week to keep Lynwood’s public spaces clean. That includes clearing alleys of illegally dumped items, cleaning graffiti off our buildings, and picking up trash and other debris dumped on the streets.

The alleys are cleaned on a regular rotation to ensure that they are not only clear of debris, but safe for residents and others who use the alleys. The alleys cleared last week include:

  • Imperial Hwy. south (at Winchell’s) alley from Pine Ave. to Linden St.
  • Atlantic Ave. west from Imperial Hwy. to MLK Blvd.
  • Imperial Hwy. south from Atlantic Ave. to Duncan Ave.
  • Brenton Ave. and St. Emydius alleys

Crews also picked-up illegally dumped items and debris from 67 locations in the city, cleaned more than 5,550 square feet of graffiti, cleaned 36 bus stops, and repaired and/or replaced street signs at 32 locations.

It’s not easy work, but you can help. When you have unwanted items, dispose of them properly by calling Bulky Item pickup at 888-467-7600

We all have to work together to keep Lynwood clean!
