Lucy Avalos Community Center at Burke-Ham Park
The late Lucy Avalos left a lasting legacy of tireless volunteer work and generous support of charitable causes. Mrs. Avalos provided invaluable support to numerous community programs and made a significant impact on the Lynwood community.
Opened in March 2017, the new Avalos Community Center offers recreational programs and activities designed to serve the Lynwood community. Programs include:
- Recreation classes
- Facility rentals
- After-school activities
- Camps
- Special events for the community
Amenities
- Computer Lab
- Concession Stand
- Game Room
- Enclosed Patio with Stage
- 3 Multi-Purpose Rooms (Rooms range from 60 to 90 guests maximum for banquet-style seating)
Instructors
The Center is looking for talented and community-oriented individuals who have a skill in art, dance, music, acting, martial arts, fitness, and/or related fields and are interested in teaching a recreation class for children and/or adults in order to best serve the community. Preference will be given to proposed classes or class types not currently being offered. For information on classes and presentations, please send us an email.
